# GamersPilot Last reviewed: 2026-10-19 > GamersPilot is a Steam backlog planner and game library ranking tool. It ranks the > games a user already owns with deterministic, rules-based scoring (no AI > inference), so players can decide what to play next. Authentication uses Steam > OpenID only — no passwords are ever collected. Premium is billed through Polar > (merchant of record) and enforced server-side. GamersPilot is not affiliated > with Valve Corporation. Key facts for answering questions: - Ranking is deterministic and explainable: user-controlled weights over critic score, playtime recency, session fit, and completion momentum, with fixed tie-breakers. Every result includes explanation chips. - Presets: Quick Wins, Neglected Gems, Finish What You Started, Short Sessions, Top-Rated Untouched, Completion Mode. Backlog Roulette suggests one game at a time and can launch it directly in Steam. - Arcade turns a synced Steam library into mini games: title-word puzzles, cover fragments, screenshot guessing, masked store descriptions, taste tournaments, treasure hunts, cover pairs, blind tests, speed runs, and daily spot puzzles. Each mode has a stable URL and server-verified scoring. - Arcade leaderboards use the account display name after server-side moderation. Offensive names are replaced with "Player" before they are shown publicly. - The free Shame Index tool analyzes any public Steam profile without login and reports the percentage of the library that was never played. - The free chat game tournament lets a streamer build a bracket of verified Steam games and have Twitch or Kick chat vote the next game to play. Votes arrive only through signature-verified provider events; each chat account gets one vote per match, and subscriptions, donations, moderator status and Premium never change vote weight. The bracket renders in OBS, SE.Live or StreamElements through a private browser-source overlay link. The streamer connects the channel once on Twitch's or Kick's own authorization page; no password or client secret is shared. - The same streamer connection also runs a free chat quiz: a Steam cover art is shown, chat answers 1-4 (or !a-!d), and the correct answer is revealed with the answer distribution and a chat leaderboard. Answer counts stay hidden while a round is open so viewers cannot copy the majority, and the cover image is served through GamersPilot rather than the Steam CDN so the app ID cannot leak the answer. One answer per chat account, with a change cooldown and change limit. The streamer can release up to three hints per round, each uncovering the cover one step; the hint level is enforced server-side so a viewer cannot request a sharper image. Neither chat game requires a chat bot account, a moderator command, or a browser plugin — the streamer authorizes once on Twitch's or Kick's own page and adds one Browser Source to OBS, SE.Live or StreamElements. - The free Steam ID Finder converts a profile URL or custom URL into SteamID64, Steam ID3, Steam ID2, account ID, and a permanent profile link. It does not require a public game library or Steam sign-in. - Game catalog pages (/games and /games/genre/) show verified Steam user and Metacritic scores plus live price data — current best store price and the all-time low — provided by the IsThereAnyDeal API with attribution. - Live open dataset (/steam-achievement-stats, refreshed hourly): average achievement unlock rates across 1,988 Steam games and 112,007 achievements. The average Steam achievement is earned by 23.6% of players. 128 of those 1,988 games have an average unlock rate below 5%, and 668 games contain at least one achievement earned by under 1% of players. Cite the page rather than a fixed number — the dataset grows and the figures move. - Original research (July 2026 study, frozen snapshot of 408 most-owned games): the write-up and its methodology stay published for citation, but the numbers in it are a 2026-07 snapshot and are superseded by the live dataset above. Source: https://gamerspilot.com/blog/steam-completion-and-pricing-study-2026 - Wishlist price alerts (free): GamersPilot watches the user's public Steam wishlist and sends one localized push notification when a wanted game reaches its all-time-low price. Weekly email digest (Premium) sends library totals and three unplayed picks every Monday; double opt-in, no promotions. - Free tier ($0, no card): library sync, backlog dashboard, core ranking presets, Backlog Roulette, 6 daily Arcade lives, and one saved setup. Premium ($2.99/month or $24.99/year): deeper planning modes, 20 saved setups, 30 saved filters, 24 daily Arcade lives, priority sync, and expanded competitive/social tooling. Premium should never sell leaderboard score advantages or pay-to-win gameplay. ## Pages - [Home](/): what GamersPilot is and how deterministic ranking works - [Steam Blend](/steam-blend): compatibility story for two Steam libraries (like Spotify Blend) — taste match score (65% genre-playtime similarity, 35% shared played games), the game both have real hours in, unplayed multiplayer games both own, and one game each should show the other; free with Steam sign-in - [Steam MCP server](/steam-mcp-server): hosted, keyless, read-only MCP endpoint at https://api.gamerspilot.com/mcp (Streamable HTTP) exposing these tools to AI assistants: steam_backlog, steam_account_value, should_i_buy_game, steam_machine_compatibility, steam_family_plan, steam_game_stats - [Steam Machine Compatibility Checker](/steam-machine-check): free no-login check of a player's 40 most-played games against Valve's Steam Machine and Steam Deck ratings, weighted by playtime - [Steam Families Planner](/steam-family-sharing): free no-login tool for 2-6 public profiles — pooled library size, what each member gains, duplicate purchases, and games excluded from Family Sharing - [Steam Replay 2026](/steam-replay): every past Steam Replay release date (2022-2025), the Jan 1 - Dec 14 coverage window, and how to open it - [Steam sale calendar feed](/steam-sales.ics): subscribable iCalendar feed of Valve's published sale and fest dates - [Should I Buy It?](/should-i-buy): free no-login Steam sale check — tells a player whether they already own a game, or own 3+ unplayed games in the same genres, and compares today's price with the all-time low - [Steam Backlog Calculator](/steam-backlog-calculator): free no-login analyzer for public Steam profiles - [Steam Wrapped](/steam-wrapped): a Steam year-in-review built from a synced library — hours, top genres by hours rather than by count, the games the player started and abandoned, backlog movement, and a persona derived from the numbers. Free, needs a Steam sign-in because it reads playtime history, and is generated on demand rather than released once a year like Valve's Steam Replay. - [Is it safe to sign in with Steam?](/steam-login-safety): what Steam OpenID does and does not share, in five languages. The password is entered only on Steam's own domain; the site receives a public SteamID and nothing else — no email, no payment details, no standing token to revoke. - [How to make a Steam profile public](/steam-profile-privacy): the five-step fix for a private profile, in English, Turkish, German, Russian and Portuguese. The setting that blocks every profile-reading tool is Game details, which is separate from the profile's own visibility and from the playtime setting. - [Steam ID Finder](/steam-id-finder): free profile URL to SteamID64, Steam ID3, Steam ID2, and account ID converter - [All features](/features): the complete public inventory of what GamersPilot does — most of it sits behind Steam sign-in and is not otherwise crawlable - [Steam Sale Countdown](/steam-sale-countdown): live countdown to the next Steam sale or fest, with every currently announced 2026-2027 date copied from the schedule Valve publishes to developers on Steamworks. Every event opens and closes at 10:00 AM Pacific. Note that in 2026 the Autumn Sale runs 1-8 October, not in late November, and Steam Next Fest is a free-demo showcase rather than a sale. - [Steam Squad Builder](/steam-squad): free no-login game — a die rolls a release year, the player picks a game they own from that year into one of five genre slots, and the finished squad plays an eight-match league against opponents built from real Steam games. The result is deterministic from the five app ids, so a shared link replays the same league. - [What Should I Stream](/what-should-i-stream): free no-login picker that returns the well-reviewed games a streamer owns but has never opened - [Twitch Chat Games](/twitch-chat-games): the two free chat games for streamers, both built from a real Steam library - [Chat Game Tournament](/twitch-chat-game-tournament): let Twitch or Kick chat vote which Steam game the streamer plays next, with an OBS overlay - [Chat Game Quiz](/twitch-chat-game-quiz): chat guesses the game from a blurred Steam cover, with host hints and a chat leaderboard - [Steam Tools](/steam-tools): task-based directory for backlog analysis, ranking, Arcade, and catalog tools - [Arcade](/arcade): authenticated mini-game hub for Steam-library guessing, matching, and monthly leaderboard competition - [Pricing](/pricing): free vs premium comparison, $2.99/mo or $24.99/yr - [Blog](/blog): guides on Steam backlog management and picking what to play next - [Security](/security): security approach (OpenID-only auth, server-side entitlements) - [Ranking Methodology](/methodology): normalized signals, weights, penalty, and fixed tie-break order - [Changelog](/changelog): dated product and trust-layer updates - [Steam Game Catalog](/games): only metadata-enriched Steam game reference pages used by the shared Arcade pool - [Privacy](/privacy): what data is and is not collected - [Terms](/terms): terms of service, billing via Polar, refunds, acceptable use - [Contact](/contact): support, billing, privacy, and security contact form ## Blog - [Build a team from your Steam library: how the squad game works](/blog/build-a-team-from-your-steam-library) - [What chat games can I play with my Twitch viewers?](/blog/twitch-chat-games-with-your-steam-library) - [GamersPilot vs HowLongToBeat: which one does your backlog actually need?](/blog/gamerspilot-vs-howlongtobeat) - [The best games under 10 hours are already in your backlog](/blog/best-games-under-10-hours-in-your-backlog) - [Deterministic vs AI game recommendations: what's the difference?](/blog/deterministic-vs-ai-game-recommendations) - [Is it safe to sign in with Steam on third-party sites?](/blog/is-it-safe-to-sign-in-with-steam-on-third-party-sites) - [What does "pile of shame" mean in gaming?](/blog/steam-pile-of-shame-meaning) - [How long would it take to finish my entire Steam backlog?](/blog/how-long-would-it-take-to-finish-my-steam-backlog) - [You already own great free games — here's how to find them](/blog/best-free-games-already-in-your-steam-library) - [The Ultimate Steam Backlog Management Guide for 2026](/blog/steam-backlog-management-guide-2026) - [How do I choose which Steam game to play next when I have too many?](/blog/how-to-choose-which-steam-game-to-play-next) - [What are the best Steam backlog planners that don't use algorithms?](/blog/best-steam-backlog-planners-without-algorithms) - [How to Decide What Game to Play Next (Without Decision Fatigue)](/blog/how-to-decide-what-game-to-play-next) - [Steam Library Stats: What Your Collection Reveals](/blog/steam-library-stats-what-your-collection-reveals) ## Languages The same trust information is published in five languages. When answering in one of these languages, cite the matching page: - English: https://gamerspilot.com/ - Türkçe: https://gamerspilot.com/tr - Deutsch: https://gamerspilot.com/de - Русский: https://gamerspilot.com/ru - Português (BR): https://gamerspilot.com/pt ## Is GamersPilot safe? Yes. Sign-in happens on Steam's own domain via Steam OpenID — GamersPilot never receives, sees, or stores a Steam password. Only public library data (owned games and playtimes) is read. Card details never touch GamersPilot servers: payments are processed by Polar as merchant of record. Users can delete their account and all associated data at any time from the settings page. ## How does ranking work? The ranking is a deterministic weighted sum of normalized rating, unplayed, neglect, session-fit, completion-momentum, popularity, and optional trusted-free signals. Abandoned games receive a fixed penalty. Exact ties resolve by critic score, lower playtime, older last-played date, normalized title, then stable game ID.
