Privacy Policy

GamersPilot reads your public Steam library so it can tell you what to play next. That is the whole purpose, and it is the only reason we hold any data about you. This page explains exactly what we keep, why, and how to remove it.

Last updated: 11 July 2026

What we collect

Your Steam identity

Your SteamID and display name, received from Steam's OpenID flow when you sign in. We use this to know which account is yours.

Your public library data

Game titles, playtime, and last-played dates, as exposed by your Steam privacy settings. This is the data we rank. If your Steam library is private, we cannot read it.

Your settings

Ranking profiles, saved filters, and preferences you create in the app.

Security metadata

Your IP address and browser user agent, stored only as irreversible hashes, to detect abuse and protect your session. We cannot recover the original values from them.

Subscription status

If you subscribe, we store which plan you are on and when the period ends. We never receive or store your card details โ€” Polar handles payment entirely.

What we never collect

  • Your Steam password โ€” it is never sent to us
  • Your card or payment details โ€” these stay with Polar
  • Your email address โ€” Steam OpenID does not share it, and we do not ask for it
  • Your private Steam data: messages, friends, purchase history, wishlist
  • Advertising or cross-site tracking data โ€” we run no ad trackers

Who we share it with

We do not sell your data, and we do not share it for advertising. We use two processors, both only for the purpose they are named for:

  • Cloudflare โ€” hosting, storage, and protection against abuse.
  • Polar โ€” payments, acting as merchant of record. They receive your payment details directly; we never see them.

How long we keep it

Your account and library data are kept for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, all of it is erased immediately and permanently.

Security and audit records are kept for a limited period to investigate abuse and to reconcile billing. They contain no readable personal data โ€” network details are hashed, and the link to your account is removed when you delete it.

Your rights

You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from Settings. This is immediate and irreversible โ€” we do not keep a shadow copy.

If you are in the EU/UK, you also have the right to access, correct, or export your data, and to object to processing. Email us and we will act on it. To manage or cancel a subscription, use the billing portal in Settings, which is operated by Polar.

Contact

Questions about your data, or a privacy request? Use the contact form โ€” pick the "Privacy request" topic and we will act on it.

For how we protect your account, see our security page.
