Steam Families planner
See what a Steam Family would share before you create it: the pooled library, what each member gains, the games you both paid for, and the ones that cannot be shared.
Frequently asked questions
What does the planner show?
For 2 to 6 public Steam profiles: how many games the group would pool, how many new games each member gains, which games more than one member already bought, and which games the publisher has excluded from Family Sharing.
How does it know a game cannot be shared?
From the Steam store's own Family Sharing category on each game. Games we have no store data for yet are counted as shareable and that count is shown, so the total is never silently inflated.
Are duplicate games wasted money?
Not always. In a Steam Family one copy can be played by one member at a time, so two copies let two of you play that game simultaneously. If you never play it together, one copy would have been enough.
How many people can be in a Steam Family?
Up to six members. Steam Families replaced the older Family Sharing and Family View features and pools each member's shareable games into one family library.
Do we need to sign in or share passwords?
No. The planner only reads public libraries: paste each member's profile URL, custom URL or SteamID64. Each member's Game details privacy setting must be Public.
