Frequently asked questions
What is Steam Blend?
A compatibility story for two Steam libraries, in the spirit of Spotify Blend. It shows a taste match score, the genres you share, the game you have both put real hours into, multiplayer games you both own and have not played yet, and one game each of you should show the other.
How is the match score calculated?
65% of it is how alike your playtime is spread across genres, and 35% is how many of the games you have actually played (an hour or more) you have both played. It is a conversation starter built from real hours, not a scientific measurement.
Does my partner need an account?
No. You sign in with Steam and paste their public profile link. Their Steam Game details setting has to be Public so their library can be read. They can open the shared link without signing in.
Is it only for couples?
No. It works for any two people: partners, friends, siblings, the person you keep queueing with. The cards are written to be sent to the other person.
Is anything posted or stored?
Nothing is posted to Steam or anywhere else. A Blend is rebuilt from the two public libraries whenever its link is opened; the link itself only contains the two public Steam IDs.
