Which Steam ID format do you need?

One Steam account can be written in several formats. They point to the same identity, but websites, game servers, bots, and developer tools may ask for different versions.

SteamID64

76561198000000000

The unique 64-bit numeric ID used by the Steam Web API and permanent profile URLs.

Steam ID3

[U:1:39734272]

A compact account representation commonly seen in Steam tools and server systems.

Steam ID2

STEAM_0:0:19867136

The legacy format still requested by some Source-engine servers and community tools.

Account ID

39734272

The 32-bit account component from which the common individual Steam ID formats are derived.

If the profile’s Game details are public, use the same URL or SteamID64 to measure the unplayed backlog or estimate the current replacement cost of the library.

Frequently asked questions

How do I find my SteamID64?+

Paste your Steam Community profile URL, custom profile URL, custom name, or an existing SteamID64 into the finder. The result shows the 17-digit SteamID64 and a permanent profile link.

Does the Steam ID finder work with a private profile?+

Yes. Steam profile identity is separate from Game details. The finder does not need access to your owned-game list, playtime, friends, inventory, or password.

What is the difference between SteamID64, Steam ID3, and Steam ID2?+

They are different text formats for the same Steam account identity. SteamID64 is the 17-digit value used by the Steam Web API, Steam ID3 uses the [U:1:account] format, and Steam ID2 is the legacy STEAM_0:Y:Z format.

Is a SteamID64 secret?+

No. It is a public account identifier that appears in profile and community systems. It is not a Steam password, session token, API key, or proof that someone owns the account.

Why can’t my custom Steam URL be found?+

Check the spelling and paste the complete steamcommunity.com/id/... URL. A custom URL that was recently changed may take a short time to resolve consistently.
