How to make your Steam profile public
Steam hides your game list by default on a lot of accounts. Two settings have to be public, and the second one is the one almost everybody misses.
Five steps
- Open Steam privacy settings.
- Set My profile to Public.
- Set Game details to Public.
- Uncheck Always keep my total playtime private.
- Save, wait about a minute, then reload.
Why Game details is the setting that matters
People set My profile to Public, retry, and it still does not work — because the owned-game list has its own separate setting. Until Game details is public, your library stays hidden from friends, from profile-showcase sites, and from every tool that reads a public profile. Playtime has a third setting again, so leaving that box ticked hides your hours even when the game list is visible.

Why is my Steam game list still private after making my profile public?
Game details is a separate setting from My profile. Set Game details to Public as well, then reload after about a minute.
Is it safe to make a Steam profile public?
A public profile shows the games you own, your playtime and your showcases. It never exposes your password, payment details, or account email. You can set it back to private at any time.
How long does it take for the change to apply?
Usually under a minute. Steam and any site reading your profile may cache the old value briefly, so reload once before assuming it failed.
